Checking In

We’re on day 4 of our Washington adventure. The weather to this point has been exquisite (if a little on the warm side), though rain has worked its way back into the picture today. But, hey, it’s the PNW…what else would one expect?!
Spent Sunday with a friend of mine and her family. Her youngest son is starting first grade today and LOVED talking Star Wars with me. Hearing about it from a child’s perspective gave me a whole new appreciation that I’ll work to articulate when we are a bit more stationary.

Until then, here are a couple of photos I snapped with my phone. Snoqualmie Falls and Wallace Falls State Park, respectively.

  1. I do love talking to kids about Star Wars though because, at times, it’s so much more interesting than talking to adults. And they just get so genuinely excited. That excitement and honesty is what I miss when talking to adults about Star Wars, because adults are too into the politics of, say, Star Wars cosplay/EU/who’s a bigger fan. Children don’t care about how much they know or don’t know, they just love Star Wars with this fabulous purity.

Can’t wait to hear your views about Star Wars from a child’s perspective. I had some kids over on Monday and the 9 year old boy kept shouting “I’M SO JEALOUS OF ALL YOUR STAR WARS STUFF!” Hahahaha. His mom had to tell him to stop after a while because it was getting ridiculous.
