Cautiously Optimistic

This evening brought our first bit of good news in this week’s Uncle Pete saga.

Another scan revealed that Pete’s abdomen area is free of any tumors! The way things had been going, we were expecting the worst possible news regarding how the bad cells might have metastasized.

But wait, there’s more…

The radiologist talked to Sherry while Pete was having his lung tumor biopsied. The largest brain tumor is not as big as they first thought; it’s apparently surrounded by fluid, creating the illusion of a larger growth. So depending on tomorrow’s pathology results, Pete may be facing just ten radiation treatments for his brain tumors! Just ten. They’re already planning to start the first treatment on Saturday.

I’m beyond amazed. I know without a doubt that God is at work here.  And yet, we must also remind ourselves that we’re not out of the woods yet. Tomorrow’s news will be a game-changer either way we go.

Still, even the smallest victories are huge at this point. Thank you for your continued prayers and concern.

Don’t forget about Friday Fasting!
